Rule 18. Electronic Filing Procedure
(a) Applicable Rules. Unless otherwise ordered by this court, electronic filings shall be made as provided in Rule 103, Court Operating Rule 27 and this rule and no paper copies of electronic filings are required.
(b) Registered Users. Any lawyer who is a member in good standing of the Missouri Bar and represents a party on appeal in this court shall be a registered user of the electronic filing system.
(c) Required Format for Certain Documents. The following documents shall be filed in searchable PDF format:
(1) Petitions for a Writ;
(2) Answers to a Writ;
(3) Motions;
(4) Suggestions; and
(5) Briefs.
(d) Service and Proof of Service in Initial Filings. Case-initiating documents filed electronically in this court in:
(1) original writ proceedings;
(2) petitions for permission to appeal class action certification;
(3) motions for late notice of appeal;
(4) Rule 33.09 applications: and
(5) RSMo §115.024 petitions
shall be served on the parties and attorneys and proof of service filed in accordance with applicable court rules.
(e) Notices. The court may serve notices, opinions, and other documents on registered users through the electronic filing system and on all others as provided in Rule 43.01. If a party is represented by multiple attorneys and any such attorney is a registered user, this court shall serve notice only to the registered users.
(f) Exhibits. Copies of trial exhibits may be filed electronically with this court if the opposing party consents. An index of the exhibits filed electronically also shall be included. Any original photographs or oversize exhibits must be deposited pursuant to Special Rule 4 and Supreme Court Rules 81.12(e) and 81.16.
(g) Facsimile Filings. A registered user or anyone eligible to be a registered user of the electronic filing system may not file documents by facsimile transmission.
