Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District, Announcements

The Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District, is pleased to announce it will begin the use of electronic filing effective June 4, 2012. As of June 4, attorneys will be required to file new and pending cases electronically in the court.

To help guide attorneys as to what documents should be filed electronically, the court has adopted local rules 18 and 19 in addition to the statewide rules governing electronic filing.

Attorneys in juvenile or other confidential cases, however, cannot file through the Missouri eFiling System at the present time. They are required to send their documents as attachments to e-mail. The court is notifying the attorneys in those cases about the procedure to be followed.

To begin filing electronically, an attorney first must register for a free account. Attorneys are encouraged to register before filing in the Southern District begins June 4, 2012.

The court encourages users to contact the Help Desk by e-mail at OSCA.Help.Desk@courts.mo.gov or toll-free at (888) 541-4894 with any questions, concerns or constructive comments about the Missouri eFiling System. Attorneys with questions about rules compliance regarding a particular filing should contact the clerk's office at (417) 895-6811.

The Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District, appreciates your patience and cooperation with this process.
