INTRODUCTION

Case Index Records are to be maintained on all municipal cases. Judgment index records are to be maintained on all municipal judgments.

A case index should be maintained for each case filed including traffic or non-traffic violations. The index should include the full name of the defendant, the case number, the date the case was filed with the court, and the case disposition. Confidential cases shall be accessible only to authorized personnel.

Municipal divisions - on an automated record keeping system approved by the State Judicial Records Committee in conjunction with the Missouri Court Automation Committee of the Supreme Court, including JIS are required to maintain judgment records..

OSCA is responsible for maintaining Case.net which serves as the index of records entered in JIS available over the internet. Case.net is the public access portal to the Missouri State Courts Automated Case Management System. From this webpage, the public is able to inquire on case records including docket entries, parties, judgments and charges in public records of state courts. Courts that have implemented the case management software as part of the Missouri Court Automation Program and cases that have been deemed public under the Missouri Revised Statutes can be accessed through Case.net. See the webpage at www.courts.mo.gov/casenet.
