127.06 DETENTION
a.
A juvenile officer may authorize the detention of a juvenile for a period not to exceed 24 hours from the taking of the juvenile into judicial custody under
subdivision (2) or (3) of subsection 1 of section 211.031, RSMo
.
This authorization may be written or oral but, if oral, shall be reduced to writing as soon as practicable.
b.
Within 24 hours after a juvenile is taken into judicial custody under
subdivision (2) or (3) of subsection 1 of section 211.031, RSMo
,
unless the court has ordered or orders that the juvenile be detained, the juvenile shall be released to the juvenile's parent, guardian or custodian or other suitable person.
