Circuit Clerk's Role and Responsibilities
As the Circuit Clerk, Sherry Terrell is responsible for maintaining complete and accurate records of the court, collecting, accounting for, and disbursing all monies paid into the court, and performing other duties as necessary to assist the court in performing its duties. Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Records Management
- Issuance of Legal Documents
- Financial Management
- Receive, process, and maintain the judgments, rules, orders, and all other proceedings of the court.
- Preserve the court seal and other property of the office.
- Issue process: summons, subpoenas, executions, garnishments, sequestrations, judgments, orders, and commitments.
- Collect and disburse all fines and costs.
- Collect and disburse other monies paid into court as ordered by the court.

Each team contains a manager and deputy clerks. The Boone County Circuit Clerk's Office has a Court Manager with duties including assisting in overseeing the daily activities of each team, maintaining monthly & annual records for qualified surety bond company's, and providing the court with statistical and case management reports.
The Boone County Circuit Clerk's Office is located in the Boone County Courthouse on the first and second floors. The office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. This office honors all holidays regulated by the State of Missouri. The list of holidays may be found here
