DWI Court

The Boone and Callaway County DWI Court Programs are a court-supervised programs which accepts post plea DWI prior offenders that have been referred to the program by the Prosecuting Attorney. The DWI Court program is voluntary and is part of the terms of individuals’ probation. All participants have been determined to require substance abuse treatment. Participation includes regular court appearances before the Drug Court Commissioner. Treatment, which includes drug testing, individual counseling and group counseling, is provided through Phoenix Programs Inc., Reality House and McCambridge Center. The defendant is also expected to obtain and maintain employment or involvement in vocational or educational programs and maintain regular attendance at 12-step meetings such as Alcoholics Anonymous. The length of the program is determined by each participant’s progress and will be a minimum of one year and no longer than two years.
