Case Numbering
All cases filed after October 31, 2001, will be assigned a new JIS case number. Each circuit using the new JIS system is assigned a block of case numbers per circuit. The block of numbers for the 14th circuit is 176,000 to 182,999. Therefore, all new cases in JIS will have the following information in the case number format:
