ORDER

The Chief Disciplinary Counsel having filed an information and motion for reciprocal discipline pursuant to Rule 5.20 advising this Court of its finding, after investigation, that Respondent, Rodney H. Powell, was suspended from the practice of law by the Supreme Court of Iowa pursuant to the opinion of that court issued in case number 17-0254, entitled Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board, Appellee, v. Rodney Howard Powell, Appellant reported at 901 N.W.2d 513 (Iowa 2017);

A show cause order was issued on January 11, 2018, and Respondent failed to respond to the same;

Said discipline was the result of conduct that is a violation of Rule 4-1.8(a) of the Rules of Professional Conduct; and

This Court finds that Respondent has violated the Rules of Professional Conduct and should be disciplined;

Now, therefore, it is ordered by this Court that the motion for discipline is sustained and that Respondent, Rodney H. Powell, is suspended indefinitely from the practice of law in this state and that no application for reinstatement shall be entertained by this Court for a period of two years from the date of this order.

It is further ordered that Rodney H. Powell, comply in all respects with Rule 5.27 – Procedure Following a Disbarment or Suspension Order.

Costs taxed to Respondent.
