All cases filed after June 21, 2001, will be assigned a new JIS case number. Each circuit using the new JIS system is assigned a block of case numbers per circuit. The block of numbers for the 33rd circuit is 744,000 to 751,999. Therefore, all new cases in JIS will have the following information in the case number format:

Case Type CV- Civil, CR-Criminal, PR-Probate etc.
6-digit sequential case number in the range assigned to the circuit.

Traffic cases will be filed in the court using the traffic ticket case number.
