Missouri Electronic Filing System
Effective January 1, 2012, electronic documents are viewable at the public access terminal at the court house. Public case documents in Taney County are available electronically for the abovereferenced case types initiated in JIS beginning April 14, 2014. Contact the court for the availability of electronic records prior to this date.
Case Numbering
All cases filed after October 7, 1999, were assigned a new JIS case number. Each circuit using the JIS system was assigned a block of case numbers per circuit. The block of numbers for the 38th circuit beginning October 7, 1999, is 786,000 to 800,999. All new cases initiated in JIS between October 7, 1999 and January 1, 2004, have the following information in the case number format:

CV = Case Type (CV-Civil, CR-Criminal, PR-Probate etc.)
786021 = 6 digit sequential case number in the range assigned to the circuit
Prior to JIS, cases were handled manually. Pending cases as of the date of JIS implementation were manually entered into JIS with a “converted” case number construct using the following:

Beginning June 25, 2005, upon court consolidation, all new cases are in the AF-Taney court location.
Case Numbering Beginning January 1, 2017:
Beginning January 1, 2017, when Taney County becomes the only county in the newly created 46th Circuit, the case number format changed to the following:

The case is not assigned a new case number when it is bound over nor is it assigned a new case number when there is a change of venue within the circuit. This assures that the original case number is carries forward throughout the life of the case.
