Definition of Work:
The Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel is the agency established by the Supreme Court of Missouri to handle ethical complaints involving lawyers. Paralegals at the OCDC work with staff attorneys to conduct investigations related to complaints and other disciplinary proceedings; then, assist with the litigation of such matters.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in paralegal studies or another similar degree program with a minimum of 24 hours earned credit in accounting or finance, but the OCDC will consider a paralegal certification from another jurisdiction and commensurate experience in lieu of these formal education requirements;
- Two years of experience working as a paralegal in a law firm or a governmental agency.
Location:
This position is based in Jefferson City, Missouri, but includes an opportunity for some remote work.
Salary and benefits:
Starting salary ranges from $45K to $54K, depending upon experience.
The OCDC has a collegial work environment and provides a generous benefit package that that includes medical, vision, dental, and life insurance programs as well as retirement options. While it is an agency of the Supreme Court of Missouri, this is not a position with the State of Missouri.
