Missouri Approved Instructions: Civil and Criminal
Missouri has standardized instructions – called Missouri Approved Instructions (MAIs) – for both criminal and civil cases. For criminal cases, Missouri Approved Charges (MACH-CRs) also are available. The Supreme Court of Missouri periodically modifies MAIs or MACH-CRs through orders, which are published online as they are entered and available below.
Please note these are only the orders updating the instructions or charges, not the full text of the instructions. The Court does not publish a compilation of either the instructions or the charges, but such compilations are available from most law libraries, including the Court's law library.
