Moving Day reminder: JIS will be removed from court desktops December 31, 2025

CIC Home :: Show-Me Courts

We're going to join the Jeffersons! cWell, we're movin' on up, to the east side, to a deluxe apartment (house) in the skyc

Don’t forget, JIS is being removed from court computers December 31, 2025, and functions are being moved to Show-me Courts.

Starting October 14, 2025, Microsoft no longer will support security updates to the Microsoft 10 operating system. Since JIS will not work with Microsoft 11, it will be deactivated on all court computers December 31, 2025, and no longer installed on new court computers.

What is being done for JIS removal?
JIS screens will continue to be retired throughout 2025 as comparable SMC processes are activated. These screens and the dates of retirement can be found on the JIS Phase-Out: Take Action page on the Court Information Center (CIC).

OSCA is working to prioritize essential JIS processes that are not in SMC and have them operational by the end of the year. A list of JIS screens scheduled to be added to SMC processes is available. This list is subject to change so check regularly.

Will JIS JAVA still be available?
JIS JAVA still will be available for juvenile, pretrial and appellate users. As SMC functions are activated, piloted, and approved for juvenile, pretrial and appellate users, the comparable JIS JAVA form will be removed.

What can you do to prepare?
Get familiar with SMC if you are not already using it. SMC training modules can be found in TRACKS, SMC has In-App help pages, and demos about new or changed SMC functions can be found on CIC at SMC Shorts.

Just like when moving, a box or item can be forgotten or disappear. If there is a JIS screen you use regularly that has not been added to SMC or included on the list to be added to SMC, please let us know to ensure we’re adding essential functions or even less-critical functions that can be added once we have the basics up and running.

When moving, boxes get dropped, items get broke, things won’t work. During this move, OSCA will do its best to keep things running and repair what’s not. Please be aware there will be hiccups, and be patient as we work through this move together.

If you have questions or need assistance, please contact the OSCA Help Desk at 888-541-4894 or OSCA.Help.Desk@courts.mo.gov.
