I can log in but it does not give me a court option to choose. Should I have a court option?
Yes, you should have access to the circuit location in which you are employed. Please contact the OSCA help desk at 1-888-541-4894 if the court option does not appear.
How do I search all circuits?
Currently, SMC Search is structured the same as JIS. You can only search for information within your circuit. If you need to do a statewide search, you will have to use Case.net.
I currently use Case.net to do searches. What is the benefit of using SMC Search?
SMC Search provides more search criteria to identify cases, people and organizations. Also, it provides the essential information for traffic and ordinance cases on one page.
Can I search in Show-Me Courts and bring the information over to JIS?
You can copy information in SMC and paste to the necessary form in JIS. For example, you could search a person and copy the JIS Party ID from Person Summary and paste the information to the ID field on CDAPRTY.
When I do a Person search, not all of their cases appear in the Case Information section of the Person Summary?
Right now, only cases on which the person is a litigant appear in the Case Information section. Party types such as Defendant, Respondent, Plaintiff, Petitioner and others are designated in JIS as litigants. Party types such as Judge, Attorney, Prosecutor, Natural Father and others are not designated as litigants. As stated in the announcement for Show-Me Courts Case/Person/Organization Search, SMC Search is targeted to municipal and traffic divisions. When the civil, probate and juvenile applications are developed, the party types that should be designated as litigants will be reviewed.
