Information about Adult Correctional Facilities
Each of the Missouri Department of Corrections’ 19 adult correctional centers operates like a small city, whose residents eat meals together in dining halls, access treatment for medical or behavioral-health issues, go to school, and work in jobs. The centers’ programs are designed to help offenders understand the impact of crime on victims and learn to change their mindsets so they can make positive contributions to communities upon release.
The Missouri Department of Corrections website provides listings of the institution centers and their locations and the centers’ wardens.
Offenders living in Missouri’s correctional facilities are expected to follow rules of conduct to ensure everyone’s safety and security. To learn more about these rules – including prohibited behaviors, what corrective actions may be taken and how the corrective process works – please review the Missouri Department of Corrections’ offender rulebook on its website.
