16th circuit commission releases demographic, meeting, interviewee information for Jackson County circuit court vacancies

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Pursuant to Rule 10.28(d), the Sixteenth Circuit Judicial Commission announces the following demographic information relating to applicants for the vacancies on the Jackson County circuit court created by the retirements of the Honorable Jay Daugherty and the Honorable W. Stephen Nixon.

There are 21 applicants for the vacancies. Eight of those applicants are women, and 13 are men. There are three minority applicants and 18 non-minority applicants. Eleven applicants work in the private sector, and 10work in the public sector. The mean age of the applicants is 46.

Also pursuant to Rule 10.28(d), the commission announces it will interview all 21 applicants. Their names are:

The commission will meet to interview the applicants on Monday, March 14, 2011 in the courtroom of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District beginning at 9 a.m. and concluding at approximately 5 p.m. The public may attend and observe the interviews.

The commission then will meet beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011, to select a panel of three nominees for the vacancy in Division 5 of the Jackson County circuit court. The commission expects to announce the panel no later than 4:30 p.m. that day.
