Assistive Listening Devices

Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs)

Assistive listening devices can be used by hard of hearing individuals with mild to severe hearing losses. An assistive listening device amplifies sounds and reduces background noise for people who are hard of hearing.

ALDs purchased by OSCA for the courts prior to 2013 are shown on this map. Some ALDs were given to circuits as a "Floater." This means it should be available to all counties within the circuit. Contact the appropriate presiding judge or circuit clerk to use the equipment.
  • Attached here are directions for setting up this type of assistive listening device.

ALDs purchased by OSCA for the courts in 2013 are listed here.

If your circuit's unit is not available, OSCA has a spare that can be shipped to you with at least two business days' notice. Call (573) 751-4377 and ask for the Access to Justice Program to make arrangements to borrow a unit.
