The Christian County Jury Commissioner will potentially text and or e-mail you (from the information you provided when the jury questionnaire online form is completed) updates on the jury you are being summons for. Pay for Jurors:
$18 serving or not serving, plus 70 cents/mile

Reading materials are permitted in waiting areas (not courtrooms).
Sweaters/jackets are recommended because the courtroom is kept cool.

You may bring your cell phone in to the court house.

Please expect the day you come for jury service to take all day and have your schedule cleared all day, including afternoon children pick up times.

I have plans to travel during my term, may I keep my plans?

YES! Please complete the questionnaire online and then email [email protected] with proof of travel in attachments, this includes screenshots or uploads of flight confirmations, hotel reservations, car rentals, campground reservations, work itineraries or event ticket confirmations as well as your name, date of birth and juror ID and we will excuse you during the appropriate time frame. A statement without supporting documents does not suffice for a travel excuse.

I am a medical professional, may I be excused?

YES! Please go online to fill out the questionnaire and have a supervisor or practice manager email, [email protected], the Court confirmation of your employment as well as your name, date of birth and juror ID and we will excuse you from the term.

I am a student and unable to attend due to my course load, may I be excused?

YES! Please go online to fill out the questionnaire and email us from your school domain email with a copy of your schedule, name, date of birth and juror ID and we will excuse you for the term.

I have a doctor?s appointments, surgery, or other verifiable health issues, am I still required to appear?

NO! Please complete the questionnaire online and then have your medical professional email, [email protected], the Court the confirmation with your name, date of birth and juror ID and we will excuse you for the necessary time frame.

I have a felony and cannot serve, what do I do?

Please go online to fill out the questionnaire updating your information with the State of Missouri.

I have moved and am not in this jurisdiction, what do I do?

Please go online to fill out the questionnaire updating your information with the State of Missouri.

This was sent to my adult child and they no longer reside with me, what is the next step?

The individual that the mail was addressed to needs to go to the website and complete the questionnaire online to update their information with the State of Missouri.

This was sent to my home for someone that is deceased?

Please call the Christian County Circuit Court at (417) 582-5120 and let us know so that we can update their record with the State of Missouri.

I have another reason not listed above that cannot be documented as to why I cannot serve, what do I do?

In the instance you have a reason you cannot serve, but no formal documentation to support your request please fill out the questionnaire. In the event you are summoned and the trial does go to jury you need to appear on the requested date in your summons and explain your circumstances to the Court in order to potentially be excused by the Court.
