In re:
Repeal of subdivision (b) of subdivision 7.07, entitled "Nominations and Election of District Members of the Board of Governors," and subdivision (d) of subdivision 7.075, entitled "Election of District Members of the Board of Governors by Electronic Voting," of Rule 7, entitled "Establishing and Providing for the Government of The Missouri Bar," and in lieu thereof adoption of a new subdivision (b) of subdivision 7.07, entitled "Nominations and Election of District Members of the Board of Governors," and a new subdivision (d) of subdivision 7.075, entitled "Election of District Members of the Board of Governors by Electronic Voting."
ORDER
1. It is ordered that effective January 1, 2018, subdivision (b) of subdivision 7.07 and subdivision (d) of subdivision 7.075 of Rule 7 be and the same are hereby repealed and a new subdivision (b) of subdivision 7.07 and a new subdivision (d) of subdivision 7.075 adopted in lieu thereof to read as follows:
7.07 NOMINATIONS AND ELECTION OF DISTRICT MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS

(b) Nominations. A member of The Missouri Bar may be nominated to be a member of the board of governors by petitions signed by not less than ten members of The Missouri Bar. Signers of a petition must be enrolled in good standing and entitled to vote for the person nominated. Each member of The Missouri Bar may sign as many nominating petitions as there are members of the board of governors to be elected from the district in which such member is entitled to vote.
Such petitions shall be received by the clerk of this Court from January 1 to June 20 prior to the election. If June 20 falls on a weekend, such petitions shall be received until the next following business day. If a petition is filed electronically, the person filing the petition must retain the original of the petition for one year and produce it to the clerk upon request.

7.075 ELECTION OF DISTRICT MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS BY ELECTRONIC VOTING
In lieu of the provisions of Rule 7.07 relating to the form of the ballot and the method of voting, the clerk may use electronic voting and distribution of ballots, in whole or in part, under procedures developed in conjunction with The Missouri Bar and approved by this Court.
PROCEDURES FOR ELECTION OF DISTRICT MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS BY ELECTRONIC VOTING

(d) Notification of Election. No later than July 20, the clerk shall send to all lawyers with e-mail addresses in the voter file an e-mail announcing the election. This e-mail announcement shall inform the voter of the election, the dates open for voting, the names and office addresses of all qualified candidates, and the web link that will be used for electronic voting. At the same time, the clerk shall arrange for the mailing of notices as provided in subsection (e) to voters without e-mail addresses. During the voting period, the clerk and The Missouri Bar may send additional reminders of the availability of voting via e-mail or other means of delivery.
