21st circuit commission seeks applicants for Gaertner, Kendrick circuit judge vacancies in St. Louis County

ST. LOUIS – The Twenty-First Circuit Judicial Commission (St. Louis County) is accepting applications for two circuit judge vacancies. These vacancies were created by the retirement of Judge Larry L. Kendrick and the appointment of Judge Gary M. Gaertner Jr. to the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District.

The commission actively seeks out and encourages qualified individuals, including women and minorities, to apply for judicial office. By law, circuit court judges must be at least 30 years of age, licensed to practice law in Missouri, a qualified voter of Missouri and a resident of St. Louis County for at least one year.

Application forms may be picked up in the Clerk’s Office at the Missouri Court of Appeals in the Old Post Office, 815 Olive Street, Room 304, St. Louis. Applicants may also download an application and instructions below.

Applications must be received by each commissioner no later than 5 p.m. February 28, 2010, to be considered by the commission. Applicants should contact each commissioner for an interview.

The commission will meet to select the nominees to be submitted to the governor of Missouri on March 19, 2010, in St. Louis County.

The members of the Twenty-First Circuit Judicial Commission are: Chief Judge Kenneth M. Romines of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District, Debbie Champion, Richard Wuestling IV, Patrick Dudley, and Laurie Westfall.
