21st circuit commission seeks applicants for Beach associate circuit judge vacancy in St. Louis County

ST. LOUIS – The Twenty-First Circuit Judicial Commission (St. Louis County) is accepting applications for an associate judge position. This vacancy was created by the appointment of Judge Douglas Beach as circuit judge.

The commission actively seeks out and encourages qualified individuals, including women and minorities, to apply for judicial office. By law, associate circuit judges must be at least 25 years of age, licensed to practice law in Missouri, a qualified voter of Missouri and a resident of St. Louis County for at least one year.

Application forms may be picked up in the Clerk’s Office at the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District, in the Old Post Office, 815 Olive Street, Room 304, St. Louis. Applicants also may download an application and instructions below:

Applications must be received by each commissioner no later than 5 p.m. June 21, 2010, to be considered by the commission. Applicants should contact each commissioner for an interview. Those who applied for the recent position will not be re-interviewed, but those previously filing who wish to be considered should send a letter stating such to the chairman of the commission.

The commission will meet June 25, 2010, in St. Louis County to select the nominees to be submitted to the governor of Missouri.

The members of the Twenty-First Circuit Judicial Commission are: Chief Judge Kenneth M. Romines of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District, Debbie Champion, Richard Wuestling IV, Patrick Dudley and Laurie Westfall.
