31st circuit commission conducts interviews, announces meeting date for Jones circuit judge vacancy in Greene County

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Today, the 31st Circuit Judicial Commission conducted public interviews of 12 applicants for the vacancy in the position of circuit judge created by the impending retirement of the Honorable David Jones. Pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 10.26, the commission announces it will reconvene April 26, 2023, to nominate and submit three applicants to Governor Michael Parson. The commission expects to release further information on that date. Once the panel of three nominees is submitted to the governor, he will then have 60 days to appoint one of the nominees as circuit judge.
 
The commission is chaired by Chief Judge Jack Goodman of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District, and also comprises attorneys Deborah Dodge and Kurt Larson and lay members Kim Hancock and Dr. Fred McQueary.
