Memorial Service for Judge McKenzie to be held Jan. 4, 2013


The 10th Circuit Bar Association will be hosting a memorial service to celebrate the career of the late Judge Ronald R. McKenzie Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at 3 p.m. at the Marion County Courthouse, 906 Broadway, Hannibal. Guest speakers will include: Senior United States District Judge E. Richard Webber; Marion County Associate Judge John J. Jackson; John W. Briscoe; and Mark S. Wasinger. Judge Rachel Bringer Shepherd will preside.

McKenzie served as a circuit judge for 20 years until his retirement Sep. 1, 1997. He was the longest serving circuit judge in the 10th Circuit. Prior to being appointed, McKenzie also served as an attorney in private practice, juvenile officer of the 10th Circuit, and Marion County prosecuting attorney. He passed away Aug. 23, 2011.

The host committee for the memorial service includes:  Judge James R. Reinhard, Judge Carroll M. Blackwell, John W. Briscoe and Mark S. Wasinger.

The service is open to the public.
