7th circuit commission announces nominees for O'Hara associate circuit judge vacancy in Clay County

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Seventh Circuit Judicial Commission has met and selected a panel of three nominees for the associate circuit judge vacancy in Division 5 of the Clay County circuit court, created by the July 8, 2022, appointment of Judge Alisha D. O’Hara to the position of circuit judge, Division 3. The nominees are: 

Calan T. McConkey – attorney, McConkey & Bowen LLC, Excelsior Springs, five votes in support.

Kelly R. Ruark – attorney, The Law Offices of Bolstad and Ruark, Liberty, five votes in support.

Peter W. Schloss – attorney, Law office of Peter W. Schloss, Liberty, five votes in support.

The commission has submitted the panel to Governor Michael L. Parson, who will have 60 days to appoint one of the nominees as associate circuit judge for Division 5.

The commission is chaired by Chief Judge Gary D. Witt of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District, and is composed of attorneys Kate Noland and James Thompson Jr., and lay members Lisa Essig and Noel Shull.
