Missourians advised to disregard e-mail juror questionnaires
Missourians are advised to disregard an e-mail they may receive titled "Jury Duty Notification" that asks them to submit personal information in an on-line questionnaire to see if they qualify for jury duty and that threatens court-imposed sanctions for failure to respond. This e-mail is not connected in any way to the Missouri Judiciary, whose local trial courts are called circuit courts and not "superior courts", as described in the e-mail.
Although Missouri's jury system is becoming automated, e-mail notification is not part of that system. Any Missourian who is selected for jury duty will be notified in writing by U.S. mail, not by e-mail. More information about Missouri's jury system can be found through the state circuit courts' website (www.courts.mo.gov) by clicking the "Juror Information" link.
