JEFFERSON CITY, MO – The Appellate Judicial Commission announces that it will accept applications for the position of Judge of the Supreme Court, to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of the Honorable John C. Holstein, effective March 1, 2002. Applications will be received until 12:00 Noon, Friday, February 8, 2002. The Commission will meet on February 18 and 19, 2002, to select a panel of three applicants for submission to the Governor.

All applicants, including those who applied previously for other vacancies, must file a new application. Any citizen may suggest names of qualified nominees.
The Missouri Constitution requires that a Judge of the Supreme Court be at least 30 years old, licensed to practice law in Missouri, a citizen of the United States for at least 15 years, and a qualified voter of Missouri for at least 9 years next preceding selection.
