21st circuit commission releases demographic, interviewee and meeting information for Prebil circuit judge vacancy in St. Louis County

ST. LOUIS – Pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 10.28(d), the Twenty-First Circuit Judicial Commission releases the following information relating to applicants for the circuit court vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Thomas J. Prebil: 42 applicants, 21 women, 21 men, five minority, 37 non-minorities, 23 presently employed in the private sector and 19 presently employed in the public sector. The applicants' mean age is 51.

The commission announces it will not re-interview the 27 applicants who interviewed for the Judge Watkins vacancy on February 22, 2016. Pursuant to Rule 10.28(d), the commission will interview the remaining applicants:

The commission will meet at 8:30 a.m. April 4, 2016, at the St. Louis County Council Chambers Conference Room, located at 41 South Central. 1st floor, Clayton, Missouri, to conduct public interviews and to select – from the entire applicant pool of 42 – three nominees for the governor’s consideration. The public is invited to attend and observe the interviews.

The members of the Twenty-First Circuit Judicial Commission are: Lisa Van Amburg, chief judge of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District; Matthew J. Rossiter; Rev. Anthony Witherspoon; Jeffrey D. Sigmund and Christy Bertelson.
