ST. LOUIS – The Twenty-First Circuit Judicial Commission announced the panel of three nominees to be submitted to Governor Jay Nixon to fill the associate circuit judge vacancy in St. Louis County created by the retirement of Judge Patrick Clifford.
Those nominated by the commission are:
Ellen W. Dunne – Dunne graduated from University of Missouri-Columbia in 1983 and from St. Louis University School of Law in 1990. She is currently an attorney at Blitz, Bardgett & Deutsch LC.
Renee Hardin-Tammons – Hardin-Tammons graduated from University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1986 and from University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 1989. She is currently a Municipal Court Judge as well as an attorney at Dubail Judge PC.
Krista S. Peyton – Peyton graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1991 and Syracuse University’s College of Law and Maxwell School of Government in 1995. She is currently a staff attorney for the legal department of the St. Louis County family court division.
The commission conducted one day of public hearings and interviewed 31 applicants. The commission believes that these candidates, chosen from a field of extremely qualified individuals, possess those qualities essential to the fair and efficient administration of justice. The commission is confident that all of these individuals are capable of serving well and honorably if selected by the governor. Pursuant to Supreme Court of Missouri Rule 10.29, the commission reports the final votes received by each nominee were: Dunne received four votes, Hardin-Tammons received three votes and Peyton received five votes.
The members of the Twenty-First Circuit Judicial Commission are: Judge Philip M. Hess, chief judge of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District; Matthew J. Rossiter, Rev. Anthony Witherspoon, Christy Bertelson and Jeffrey D. Sigmund.
