In re: James R. Hanlin, MBE No. 18076

ORDER

The Chief Disciplinary Counsel having filed an information and motion for reciprocal discipline pursuant to Rule 5.20 advising this Court of its finding, after investigation, that Respondent, James R. Hanlin was suspended from the practice of law by the Supreme Court of Illinois pursuant to the judgment entered by that Court on January 13, 2017 in Case No. M.R. 028396 entitled In re: James R. Hanlin;

Said discipline was the result of conduct that violated the Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct and said conduct is a violation of Rules 4-5.5(a), 4-8.4(c) and 4-8.4(d) of the Missouri Rules of Professional Conduct; and

On August 2, 2017, this Court issued a show cause order to Respondent and Respondent failed to respond although granted an extension of time to file a response; and

This Court finds that Respondent has violated the Rules of Professional Conduct and should be disciplined;

Now, therefore, it is ordered by this Court that the motion for reciprocal discipline is sustained and that Respondent, James R. Hanlin, is suspended from the practice of law in this state and that no application for reinstatement shall be entertained by this Court for a period of one year from the date of this order.

It is further ordered that James R. Hanlin comply in all respects with Rule 5.27 – Procedure Following a Disbarment or Suspension Order.

Costs taxed to Respondent.
