21st circuit commission announces nominees for Borbonus associate circuit judge vacancy in St. Louis County

ST. LOUIS – The Twenty-First Circuit Judicial Commission announced the panel of three nominees to be submitted to Governor Michael L. Parson to fill the associate circuit judge vacancy in St. Louis County created by the appointment of Judge John N. Borbonus III as circuit judge.

Those nominated by the commission are:

Lorne J. Baker – Baker graduated in 1990 from the University of Michigan and in 1993 from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. He is currently an administrative law judge for the Missouri Division of Workers’ Compensation.

Kenneth M. Brison – Brison graduated in 1988 from Southeast Missouri State University and in 1992 from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale School of Law. He is currently an attorney at the Kenneth M. Brison Law Firm.

Diane M. Monahan – Monahan graduated in 1992 from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville and in 1997 from the Saint Louis University School of Law. She is currently a family court commissioner in the 21st Judicial Circuit (St. Louis County).

The commission conducted two days of public hearings and interviewed 30 applicants. The commission believes these candidates, chosen from a field of extremely qualified individuals, possess those qualities essential to the fair and efficient administration of justice. The commission is confident each nominee is capable of serving well and honorably if selected by the governor. Pursuant to Supreme Court of Missouri Rule 10.29, the commission reports the final votes received by each nominee were: Baker received four votes; Brison received five votes and Monahan received four votes.

The members of the Twenty-First Circuit Judicial Commission are: Lisa P. Page, chief judge of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District, and chairman of the commission, Tiffany Mapp Franklin, William P. Grant, Thomas K. Reedy and Jeffrey D. Sigmund.
