Change of Address or Profile Update

Rule 6.01(b) requires lawyers to notify the clerk of this Court of every change in their current mailing or e-mail address. You may notify the clerk’s office of the change via e-mail, fax or mail or by logging into the "Practice Portal" section of The Missouri Bar’s website. Once logged in, click on the "My Profile" link on the left to update your information.

Name Change

All name changes must be made in writing providing the current name enrolled under and the new name along with bar number and any other information that has changed such as address, contact numbers, e-mail address or county of employment or residence.

Request a Duplicate Bar Fees Statement

By clicking on this "Practice Portal" link, you will be directed to the members-only section of The Missouri Bar website, where you will be able to retrieve a duplicate enrollment fee statement. You will be required to sign in using your member login information. Once logged in, click on the "My Fees" link on the right. There will be an option to print a duplicate statement "My Profile" link from the left navigation menu. Then proceed with printing a duplicate statement.

Request for a Replacement Bar Card

Requests for a replacement bar card must be made in writing to the clerk of the Supreme Court. The request should contain the lawyer’s name, address, daytime telephone number and mother’s maiden name.

Request a Letter of Good Standing

Requests for a certificate of admission/good standing can be completed online or by mail to the clerk of the Supreme Court. The fee is $15 per certificate. Credit cards and e-checks are accepted online; checks or cash are accepted for requests mailed to the clerk of the Court.  

The online portal for certificates is https://supremecourtofmissouri-certificateofgoodstanding.centralbank.net. (Please note the portal is not compatible with Internet Explorer.) Requests made through the portal will be issued within one to three business days. Certificates will be sent out via first-class mail unless express mail is marked. If express mail is selected, you will be required to e-mail an electronic PDF copy of the pre-paid airbill to certificates@courts.mo.gov  before the certificate will be mailed out. 

Written requests mailed to the clerk of the Supreme Court should contain the lawyer’s name, bar number, official address, daytime telephone number, date of birth and the address to send the certificate to if it is other than the lawyer’s official address. A courtesy reply envelope is appreciated but not required. Cash or checks payable to Clerk of the Supreme Court are accepted. Once this office receives your request, please allow two to four business days for processing.

For those lawyers seeking admission to Kansas through reciprocity, please request a certificate of history. Your request should contain the same information as a request for a certificate of good standing but must note that you are seeking admission to Kansas through reciprocity. Certificates of history can be obtained online or through the mail. The fee is $15 per certificate.

Request a Disciplinary Certificate

Requests for a disciplinary certificate must be made in writing to the Office of the Chief Disciplinary Counsel (OCDC). The signed written request should contain your name, Missouri bar number, date of birth, last for digits of your social security number, current mailing address and current telephone number as well as the forwarding information for the certificate. Certificates will be mailed within approximately five to 10 business days from the date the request is received. If you have a deadline that needs to be met, please state that in the first paragraph of your request, and the office will try to accommodate you.

There is a $15 charge per certificate. You may pay by check, money order or credit card; OCDC cannot accept cash payments. To pay by check or money order, please send your signed request and payment to OCDC at the address above. To pay by credit card, from the OCDC website, click the Central Bank "Pay" button, then send your signed written request to the address above or by fax to (573) 635-2240. 

Certificates will be mailed via first-class postal mail unless you provide a prepaid Federal Express, UPS or USPS shipping label with your written request.


Request a Professional Corporation Certificate

Requests for a certificate to incorporate a professional corporation should be sent to the clerk of the Supreme Court. The written request should contain the proposed name of the professional corporation, name, bar number and official address of each shareholder. The fee is $15 per shareholder and payment should be made payable to clerk of the Supreme Court. Credit cards are not accepted. A courtesy reply envelope is appreciated but not required. Please allow three to four days for processing upon receipt of your request by this office.

Pro Hac Vice

An attorney seeking to appear pursuant to Rule 9.03 shall pay the pro hac vice fee as set out under Rule 6.01(n). The fee – which is $410 per case, per court, per attorney seeking admission – shall be paid to the clerk of this Court. All requests shall include the name of the attorney seeking admission pro hac vice, the case name, the case number, and the court or tribunal in which the attorney seeks to appear. Attorneys seeking pro hac vice admission may submit their requests and payments online or by mail.

Attorneys wishing to submit online requests may do so at https://supremecourtofmissouri-phvreceipts.centralbank.net/ and may pay online by credit card or e-check. (Please note the portal is not compatible with Internet Explorer.) Attorneys completing their requests and payments online will receive their receipts at the end of the transaction.

Attorneys wishing to mail requests must pay by check, made payable to Clerk of the Supreme Court, or cash. Please allow two to four days for processing for requests mailed to the clerk’s office.
