Note: Mr. Purdy's probation was terminated by Court order dated Nov. 26, 2010.
ORDER
Now at this day, the Court being sufficiently advised of and concerning the premises and having considered the statement of acceptance of the Disciplinary Hearing Panel decision pursuant to Rule 5.19(c), the Court finds that Respondent, Dan K. Purdy, Missouri Bar No. 18694, violated Rule 4-8.4(c) by notarizing his client’s signature on a beneficiary deed and a Power of Attorney despite that he had not witnessed her sign the document, and that he should have known that she did not actually sign those documents. In accordance with previous disciplinary decisions of this Court, Respondent’s license is suspended. The suspension is stayed pursuant to Rule 5.225 and Respondent is placed on probation under the additional terms and conditions agreed to by the parties in their Stipulation and described in the “Suggested Terms and Conditions of Probation” approved by the Disciplinary Hearing Panel.
Fee pursuant to Rule 5.19(h) in the amount of $1,000.00 payable to the Clerk of this Court to the credit of the Advisory Committee fund taxed to Respondent.
Costs taxed to Respondent.
