In re: Lynise M. Ratliff-Connor, MBE No. 39311

ORDER

WHEREAS, the Chief Disciplinary Counsel has filed an Information informing the Court that Respondent, Lynise M. Ratliff-Connor has pled guilty to one class A misdemeanor count of failure to pay federal income tax in violation of 26 U.S.C. section 7203 in United States of America vs. Lynise Michelle Ratliff-Connor, Case No. 06-00082-01-CR-W-DW, in the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, and the Court having considered the said Information; and

An order to show cause why Respondent should not be suspended from the practice of law pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 5.21(a) having been issued by this Court on August 21, 2006, and Respondent having filed a response, after extension, on September 15, 2006;

The Court finds that Respondent has violated the Rules of Professional Conduct and should be disciplined.

It is ordered that Respondent, Lynise M. Ratliff-Connor, be, and she is hereby suspended from the practice of law in this State and no application for reinstatement shall be entertained for a period of one year from the date of this order. Said suspension is stayed and Respondent is placed on probation for a period of one year from the date of this order. The terms of probation are: (1) those specified in Rule 5.225; and (2) remaining current in the requirements of Rule 15 and the payment of the annual enrollment fee required by Rule 6.

Costs taxed to Respondent.
