Marshals
The marshal and deputy marshals of the Supreme Court of Missouri are sworn law enforcement officers with statewide enforcement authority. They are responsible for the security of the Supreme Court building and its judges and employees. The marshal and deputy marshals rotate serving as the bailiff, who maintains order in the courtroom when the Court is hearing oral arguments or otherwise is in session. In addition, the marshal is responsible for serving the court's orders and arrest warrants, as well as all law enforcement and homeland security matters as they affect the Supreme Court. This includes greeting visitors to the building and ensuring they pass through the building's security measures.
