Overview:

Duties of a law clerk include legal research; preparation of memoranda regarding motions, applications for transfer, and petitions for extraordinary writs; preparation of draft opinions; and other duties as assigned.

Work Location: 

Judge Gooch expects her law clerks to work from the Supreme Court Building, located at 207 West High Street in Jefferson City. 

Qualifications: 

Applicants must be United States citizens and must have graduated from an accredited law school. Applicants must possess superior legal research, analytical, and writing skills; excellent interpersonal skills; and the ability to work independently. Proficiency with legal research and word processing software, including Westlaw and Microsoft Word, is required. Bar membership is preferred.

The position is a full-time position with the State of Missouri eligible for certain state benefits such as health insurance, life insurance, the cafeteria plan, deferred compensation, the employee assistance program and retirement benefits.
