Judge Russell has two full-time clerks. She employs them for two-year terms running from August 1 of the starting year to July 31 two years later. Judge Russell currently does not have any openings for a law clerk.

Although Judge Russell does not have specific criteria for her law clerks, she generally considers the following:  academic achievement; law journal and other writing experience; research experience; and personality. Letters of reference from law school professors or prior employers may be helpful in telling Judge Russell more about an applicant's skills and achievements.   

Externing/Interning for Judge Russell

Occasionally, there is an opportunity for law school students to participate during the school year in part-time, unpaid externship/internship opportunities in Judge Russell's chambers. Students who are interested in internship/externship opportunities with Judge Russell should contact the school's extern coordinator or career services office to determine if these opportunities are available.
