Virtual Desktop

Virtual Desktop (VMware Horizon Client)

Download the newest version of the virtual desktop

What version of the virtual desktop – or VMware Horizon Client – you have depends on when you downloaded it. For example, if you downloaded the virtual desktop in 2018, you have an older version than what is available today. It's possible this may cause some performance issues, such as slowness. Only YOU – as the system administrator for your machine – have the ability to download the newest version. Currently, version 8.4 is available.

How do I know what version of the virtual desktop I have?
  • Open the horizon client and choose the dropdown menu in the top right corner. Click "Support Information" to see what version have you installed.
If I don't have the virtual desktop what do I do?
How do I update from my current version to the
newest version?
  • You must be an administrator of your local machine to install the newest version. Open the horizon client and choose the dropdown menu in the top right corner. Choose "Software Updates," to find the most recent update available, and then click the "Download and Install" button. If you have a much older version of the virtual desktop, you will not see the "Software Updates," and you will need to instead use the link provided in the step above to install the newest version. When you update your version of the virtual desktop, the icon for the newest version may look slightly different.
Why do I need a virtual desktop?
  • A virtual desktop allows you to set up a network password, which provides access to the Court Information Center (CIC) and the many resources available there, such as court forms, the Municipal Clerk Manual, Supreme Court Rules, Court Operating Rules, educational opportunities, and more. A network password also is needed for municipal judges to access the Municipal Division Management Portal and electronically report their compliance with the Minimum Operating Standards by September 1.
