Emergency Temporary Assistance Program
This program is available to courts not on the permanent hiring freeze. This program enables an appointing authority to hire a temporary employee to replace a regular employee who is off work on accrued sick or annual leave due a serious health condition. Assistance from this program will normally be limited to a six week period to provide assistance to as many courts as possible. However, exceptions may be granted for extended medical emergencies, provided the request for the extension includes a written certification by the employee's health care provider. Each request must be submitted on the Request for Emergency Temporary Assistance form and requires approval from the Circuit Court Budget Committee prior to implementation. Requests to extend emergency temporary assistance should be submitted on the same form.
