18. Case.net Q&A


1. When the public goes to Case.net will they need to create a login to view public documents on a public case?
No, the public is not required to create an account to see public documents on on Case.net.

2. What if a person calls the court because their personally identifiable information (PII) is showing on a public document. Does the clerk take that as a motion and raise the security of the document and schedule a hearing for the judge to decide what the security level should be? Should the clerk document that in docket text about who called and their request?
The individual must submit a motion. The phone call does not satisfy the requirement to file a motion. The clerk should follow existing procedures for docketing.

3. Dates of birth are listed on the party tab in Case.net. Will this be changed?
No.

4. When looking at unsecured Case.net the Defendant's address shows when looking at the parties. Will this change?

The Rule does not require that parties’ addresses be redacted. It requires victims and witnesses addresses to be redacted. Currently there is not a plan to change Case.net.
