DECISION SUMMARY:Jefferson County is obligated to fund the position of a part-time attorney for the juvenile department and increase the salary for the current juvenile attorney. The requests for part-time court reporter, deputy clerk, and maintenance worker are unreasonable and Jefferson County is not obligated to fund the request. Jefferson County is not required to continue to indefinitely fund the deputy clerk position which was created from grant money. The request for raises for juvenile officers and clerical workers beyond what county previously approved is unreasonable and Jefferson County is not obligated to fund the request. The request for liability insurance for judges is unreasonable and therefore Jefferson County is not obligated to fund therequest.
