Juvenile Officer Performance Standards Oversight Work Group


The role of the Juvenile Officer Performance Standards Oversight Work Group is to coordinate with the state courts administrator to:

  1. Develop and maintain model policies and procedures to be implemented by juvenile officers as outlined in the performance standards;
  2. Develop and maintain a compliance review process for juvenile officers based upon the performance standards;
  3. Conduct regular compliance reviews of juvenile officers based upon the compliance review process developed by the work group;
  4. Provide recommendations to the appropriate presiding circuit judge and the appointing authority of a juvenile officer that will ensure compliance to the performance standards;
  5. Develop and maintain a process by which any person or entity could make a formal complaint regarding the actions of a juvenile officer to be referred to the appropriate presiding circuit judge for review and resolution; and
  6. Fulfill other duties related to the implementation and administration of the standards as assigned by the state court administrator.
