Family Support Division Updates

Updates from Discussion with Family Support Division at Fall Court Clerk College

At the October 2016 Court Clerk College, clerks requested the Missouri Family Support Division-Child Support (FSD-CS) begin eFiling their Request for Records, form CS–213. Beginning immediately, FSD-CS will eFile the CS–213. FSD is working with the Office of State Courts Administrator to obtain Missouri eFiling System access for their Intake Center contractor. Until that access is granted, court clerks may continue to receive some CS–213s by mail or fax from the contractor.

In addition, clerks requested at Court Clerk College that FSD-CS change the document title for certified mail receipts from Green Card(s) to Certified Mail Receipt. FSD staff will use Certified Mail Receipt as the document title beginning immediately.

Also effective immediately, FSD-CS staff will notify court clerks when family violence is an issue on an Order Modifying Child Support (CS–614). This is in addition to other family violence notifications courts currently receive from them. Note: It is the litigant's or his/her attorney's responsibility to petition the court for address confidentiality. Suggested best practice for handling confidential addresses is the Secretary of State's Safe at Home program. If the Safe at Home program is not used, an alternate practice is to put CONFIDENTIAL in the first line of the JIS address. This flags the court that the address is confidential and courts then must check documents for confidential addresses. Remove the word CONFIDENTIAL from the address block of the document before completing the merge and attaching/sending the documents. Attach a redacted copy for the file at the appropriate document security (i.e., public, attorney only, or court only access). The "Confidential Address" check box on CPAIDEN in JIS has limited functionality and only serves to suppress display of an address on Case.net.
