Rule 29 | Rules of Criminal Procedure | Misdemeanors or Felonies – Verdict, Sentence and New Trial

29.06 | Misdemeanors or Felonies – Punishment Below Legal Limit

If the jury assesses a punishment below the limit prescribed by law for the offense of which the defendant is convicted the court shall pronounce sentence and render judgment according to the lowest limit prescribed by law.
